A Gentle New Beginning

There are some stories that arrive quietly, like a breeze through the trees—and this one has been growing for a long time. Today, I’m happy to share that Tiny Giraffe and the Banana Tree is now available in paperback on Amazon.

Many of you first met Tiny Giraffe in Tiny Giraffe’s Big Adventure, where he set out into the wide world with courage and curiosity along with a lot of other big feelings. In this new story, he returns a little older, a little wiser, and still full of heart—ready to discover something new about how life changes and grows.

In this gentle Maui-set tale, Tiny Giraffe is shocked and upset when something familiar suddenly changes. Along the way, he experiences the beauty of the new beginnings, friendship, sharing, and the true spirit of aloha, which reminds us that we are never truly alone. With the help of the natural world around him, he begins to understand that even when things feel uncertain or confusing, there may be something quietly hopeful unfolding beneath the surface.

This story is especially close to my heart. Like many of my books, it was inspired by watching children learn about change—how they feel it deeply, and how they find their way through it with imagination, love, and resilience.
